Sweet Nothings: Summer Lovin' Edition!

Sheesh, I think I may melt down here with this 106 degree heat! Wasn't it only a few months ago that I was freezing my patootie off and wishing for hot chocolate and fuzzy boots? Now I'm hoping that Boulder will require my new (chocolate brown-finally-found-it!) cardigan and counting down the days until my car ices over. I swear, Georgia only has two weeks of happy medium weather.

But! That is all beside the point. The point is that I have ten gorgeous photos to share with you from the last couple months of bug bites, sun burns, and hot hot hot!

Welcome to Sunny Florida!
I drove down for one weekend to surprise the boyfriend and pick up my little brother
the weekend of June 18th.
Just so happened that Hunter's band, Alpacalope, (hehe) was going to jam on Saturday
at his "Birthday Gig". They were awesome, and I was a proud girlfriend.
(Though I wish I had gotten better photos.)
However, all trips must come to an end. Corykins and I drove back to my Peach State
fueled by energy drinks and too many snacks.
I was so happy to come home and see my Baby Belle though! She's getting so big!
CoryBear learned that the best way to walk Remi and Lottie is in the form of a doggie sled team.
We day-tripped to the National Infantry Museum right off post the other day. It was quite amazing.
I'll try to put up more of these pictures later.
We saw fireworks on the 3rd of July and colored the road/sidewalk with chalk.
Photography by my very patient brother. You wouldn't believe how many photos we had to take to get this.
"Happy 4th of July!" and "We love our soldier!"
And last but certainly not least, Miss Charlotte Belle has learned to chase bubbles!

All of the photos that look fancy were done using Picnik. If you haven't tried it, I highly suggest going there rightthissecond! It's free for all of the basic things, but if you want any of the super special editing stuff you have to pay a nominal subscription fee. Honestly though, all of this was done with the basic package and I haven't paid a cent.

I'm off to Florida on Sunday and then off to Colorado next Wednesday, so I am going to be a busy little bee until then. Pinky promise, I'll take lots of pictures and upload them as soon as I can. Now off to pack and clean and hope that all of my clothes fit in my suitcase! XOXO.

Shh.. Let's pretend it's Tuesday!

Drats! I was doing so well and then this week just snuck up on me! Here's my Curious Tuesday disguised as a Curious Wednesday:

1. What was your first kiss experience?
I was a late bloomer and didn't get mine until 8th grade. It was just an eh-I-sorta-like-you-and-you-just-asked-me-out kiss, nothing really special. I liked this boy and he asked me out after a dance, so he kissed me goodbye in the parking lot. (We broke up three days later. Oh the joys of Middle School, right?) I remember thinking, "Really? That's it?" I did the same thing after my first "make-out session". It wasn't until later that I began to really enjoy kissing. Luckily, the boys have all gotten better as I've moved on.
2. If you could work for — & learn from — anyone, who would it be & why?
Betsey Johnson. Well, if I pretend I'm fashionable and that creative. I'd like to learn from the Dalai Lama, though I don't think he gives one-on-one lessons. Honestly, I'd like to just work for myself.
3. Have you ever taken a Myers-Briggs test? (If not, do it here, it’s quick & easy!) What was your result? Do you think it was accurate? (Also, TypeLogic is a great resource for finding out more information about your type.)
I'm an INFP (Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Perceiving). I've taken this a few different times and in different settings and I always come up with the same answer. For the most part, I agree with it. There are a lot of similar personality traits in INFP's as there are in Pisces, like being a dreamer and living in a fantasy world, and looking at the world through rose colored glasses. I'm "The Idealist".
4. What is your favourite thing about your best friend?
Does that mean I have to pick a best friend? Last I checked Hunter and I were agreeing to be besties, so my favorite thing about him would be everything.
5. What makes you happiest?
Traveling. The boyfriend. When Mamma makes yummy food. Family. Laughing with people I love. Soft pink blankies and cuddling with Lana the Llama and Miss Charlotte Belle.
XOXO and hopefully I'll have time to update in the coming weeks. Hunter and I are headed out to Boulder in one week!

I'll think about that tomorrow.

Tuesday Number Two! Look! I'm actually staying on top of something! I've got lots and lots to do today, so this one's going to be cranked out quickly.
1. Where do you find inspiration?
Random things and beautiful things. On blogs I admire. In nature, flowers especially. In the people I meet and love. On sites like WeHeartIt where I get lost in photographs. In music and lyrics.
2. Have you got any hobbies or interests you’ve let lapse & wish you would take up again?
I've definitely not done enough yoga lately, I miss that. I've also really let my writing lapse, something I'm trying to get myself into again. I had for the longest time gotten out of my habit of reading every day, but I'm managing to make myself enjoy it again.
3. One tea party. Ten invitations. Who do you invite?
Ohh tough one. Mamma of course. And Hunter so he could experience a Skye tea party firsthand. His mommy and Suz. My great grandmother, Memire. Ma bichette Charlotte would roam around and beg for scraps of cake. Rachel et Ave so we could speak en Francais. And then two other people who were terrific at baking and tea making!
4. Who was your favourite teacher at school & why?
Madame Courtois for teaching me French even when I would rather just say "Je n'ai sais pas!" Mrs. Lewis for inspiring me to be an awesome English teacher. And Mrs. Nathan, my chorus teacher in middle school, for being an inspiration in everything. I couldn't pick just one!
5. Have you ever been in a long-distance relationship?
I am currently in a LDR. They're tough and they make you really think about why you deal with it, but with him, it's totally worth it. We see each other approximately six weeks out of the year, but text and talk and whatnot the rest of the time. It just makes our homecomings even more spectacular.

Amour et papillons et bisous! XOXO.

Welcome to Curious Tuesday!

Cross my heart and Pinky Promise, I will start writing again. I annoy myself so much when I start something and don't finish it. I have a problem. Seriously. It doesn't matter what it is: laundry, homework, coloring books, journaling, calendars (Oh, especially the planner types!). I always end up stopping before I finish. One of these days I will perfect the art of list making and not procrastinating! Until then my dears, I will have to just take a cattle prod to my little behind and keep myself up to speed with this blog. BUT! That is beside the point.
The point today is that I am (finally) starting Curious Tuesdays. The idea is from Miss Gala Darling over at www.galadarling.com. She asks five questions every Tuesday and she's been going at it for over a month now. I kept trying to tell myself "Skye, you must participate. You'll L-O-V-E it because you used to love surveys on MySpace and it's just like that. It'll get you writing in your blog again!" Nevertheless, I didn't do it and kept putting it off, but not any more! So here goes, the first installment:

1. If it was your birthday tomorrow, what would be on your wishlist?
Right now it would be that white Ecko Red strappy purse that got away from me. The most tragic thing happened; I was walking to the register to purchase it when a grommet from the side fell off! Now I can't find it anywhere. I would also really like some fabric so I can make myself a Moleskine cover. And honestly, money would be much appreciated at the moment. I can't seem to save fast enough for my trip to Colorado.
2. Do you look after your nails? Do you paint them? If so, do you have a colour that you keep returning to again & again?
I bit my nails up until February of this year. I would paint them but they were always scraggly looking. Now they aren't so terrible, but I don't keep them very long because I'm always breaking them. I paint them all the time though. I always end up with OPI Chapel of Love (a perfect mellow pink), OPI DS Reserve (the perfect in-between color, super shiny and goes with everything), or the hottest pink I can get my hands on.
3. What star sign are you, & do you think it is accurate?
I'm a Pisces fishy and I suppose it's accurate enough. Pisces are emotional, dreamy, and don't like their fish bowls tapped or shaken up. They swim in two different directions, but know how to go with the flow when need be. They're also supposed to be sentimental and shy. Pisces girls are especially feminine and like to be doted upon. Or at least that's what most of the astrological sites will tell you. For the most part, I agree with my Neptune star sign.
4. What is something you have recently learned to appreciate?
The price of gas on a military base! When I'm paying 2.45$ for gas it is such a shock to go off post and have to pay 2.70-something$ somewhere else. Granted, gas is cheaper in Georgia in general, but I love knowing that I'm not getting ripped off every time I fill up my Grand Am's tank.
5. What is your favourite city in the world, & why?
Haliewa, Hawaii, if that even counts as a city. It always seemed like a very magical part of Hawaii, all quaint shops and ocean views. It's one of those places that I think about when I hear someone say paradise, somewhere I would enjoy living. Haliewa Eats aka the best Thai food you may ever have outside of Thailand is another reason why I love the place. Oh now I want to go!

And there you have it! Check in next week for the next installment of Curious Tuesday brought to you by Gala Darling, and feel free to answer the questions in the comments or steal them for your own blog. XOXO.

Oh my beautiful baby blog!

How I have missed your sweetness the last few weeks month! Seriously, I haven't posted because I've been so gosh dang busy. Between crazy work hours, school, laundry, Charlotte, etc. I've been nonstop since I got home from Spring Break. Which I suppose is a good thing considering it made the time go by very quickly and now it is only two weeks until I'm back with my other half. Swoon!

Alrighty, so let's take a real quick lookie-lu through the things I've crossed off or almost crossed off of my list. This might help me feel a tad more accomplished right now:

6. Go to Disney: Check!

8. Go to Boulder, CO: Tickets are purchased and ready to go! Sooo it's In Process.

15. Buy a calligraphy pen and learn how to use it: In Process! Hunter's Mommy bought me the set and I've played with it, but need more practice.

16. Get a puppy: Check check and triple check! AloooooHA Miss Charlotte!

26. Go to a bonfire: Checked over Spring Break.

28. Take Remi/new puppy for more walks: Check! We walk all the time, even if it's just to the mailbox.

30. Find the perfect "LBD": Supercheck! Not only was it on sale, it's a Rodarte for Target piece. Sorry this is the best picture we got of it with just moi!

35. Revamp my underwear collection: SO superchecked it's not even funny. If it weren't indecent I would totally post pictures of them, they're so cute!

37. Grow out my nails enough to get a manicure: It's official! I haven't seriously bitten my nails since February!

I know I've attempted more so far, but figured I'd get my list of major things I've crossed off written out. Now it's off to bed for me, I'm going to be super busy this next week or so until summer. Two more week two more weeks!! XOXO.

M-I-C K-E-Y! MOUSE!

See that? That's me! At Disney! I got to cross off a 110 in 2010 list item! My Aunt Mer and Uncle Dan bought me tickets for my 19th birthday, and I used the first to go to Magic Kingdom over Spring Break with them and two of my friends. I had such a fun time there, I felt like a little kid again. I got pictures with lots of the Princesses, but I can't wait to go back to get the rest.
Aurora and me
Cinderella asked me if my fairy Godmother made my pretty dress
Snow White had the highest pitched voice I had ever heard, I wish I could have recorded it
Ariel is my favorite Princess, mostly because she has red hair and is a mermaid!
And finally me, at the end of a long, lovely day. Notice my "Happy Birthday Skye!" button and my tons of pins! I actually gained three more pins since I took the picture. I searched for the Baby Ariel one the entire day, and finally found her (to match the Baby Prince Eric) at the last store I went to as I was buying a Princess license plate. The best part of the entire search was when I told the Boyfriend about it. I was saying how cute it was because I was like Ariel and he could be Prince Eric. He proceeded to tell me that Eric was a "douche" because he has sex with a fish and an octopus and wears dumb clothes AND that if he was anybody, it would be the Mad Hatter (the old one of course, he hates Johnny Depp). So now I'm on the search for a Mad Hatter pin to go with Ariel instead of Eric. Sheesh!
The button got me lots of special attention, the entire day I heard "Happy Birthday Princess Skye!" from all of the castmembers and sometimes just random people. It was super exciting because on my real birthday I changed my oil and went to class and was more cranky than anything. the whole day was full of happy and more happy, so it made up for it. The only bad part was how absolutely embarrassed I got when they SANG to me! Literally you guys, they woman stopped the whole restaurant so they could sing. I wanted to crawl under my table! I guess that's what you get for wearing a pin that announces your birthday though..
Alrighty, I'm off to the Cottonmouths Hockey game now, nails painted bright red and fancy dress and red boots. Walking contradiction, eh? (That was me being Canadian for a second, hehe) Go Snakes Go! Hopefully we win tonight! I'll probably post more Spring Break pictures soon, but honestly I hardly took any besides Disney. Maybe I'll just post some more random ones. XOXO!

Bonjour mon chiot!

Enchante mes bichettes! Je m'appelle Charlotte! Or for all of you un-fancy people: Nice to meet you dears, I'm Charlotte!
I was born back in January to a Cocker Spaniel mommy and a Poodle-Chihuahua daddy (making me an adorable Cockapoo). I grew up in a house with my brothers and sisters and then took a roadtrip down to meet my new humans. I snuck into a dorm room and everything! My new home is very big, but I'm getting used to the stairs.
The first night I was home my humans put me into the bathtub! Look how silly they made me look:
How embarrassing! I did smell better at least, and that was pleasurable. I think next time I have a bubble bath I'll be buying some Pet Head or possibly splurging on some yummy John Paul Pet. They smell so good! Mommy says I need all of my puppy shots before I can go shopping though.
Luckily my Mommy went shopping for me. She bought an adorable collar for me, but we think it's magical because I always end up falling asleep when it's on me. I was also gifted with a pretty pink frisbee, some chewy sticks, a squeaky sheep, and a pink ropey toy.
Well it was very nice to meet you all! I will probably be taking over my fancy Mommy's blog in the future, so look forward to hear from me! I'll leave you with a few more pictures to fawn over:
With Mommy and Remi before my bath.
Eating a pansy in my yard. Miam Miam! as the French say.
Attacking my mommy. Sometimes we get silly and I lick her face.
Rawrrr! I was trying to eat Mommy's camera strap.
And this last one was taken by Mamma Dee. She thought I'd make a cute Wahine.
Enjoy! XOXO Charlotte
Oh and P.S. Excusez-moi for my bad grammar this evening. Mommy is still sleepy from the time change and is having a bit of difficulty translating my puppy French into English. RĂªves doux!

A very merry Unbirthday to me!

Happy Birthday OhmySkye!

Yes, me! Alright, so I'm a wee bit late seeing as my birth"day" ended 35ish minutes ago, but still. I turned nineteen years old! I feel so dreadfully ancient thinking that this is my last teenage year. Sheesh, where has the time gone? I have lots and lots more to share, but I'm going to wait for a bigger birthday post until next week (after I go down to Florida and celebrate more). Until then, I more than likely will be slow on the posts. I'm super swamped with homework and such, and I've got to pack and do laundry and a whole boatload of other tasks on my ToDo list. A bientot mes bichettes! XOXO.

Let Them Eat Cake;

I know this has been circulating around the blogosphere lately, but I had to share. Who wants to dress up a la dearest Marie and throw pretty pastries around with me?!
Enjoy! I'm off to Philosophy, XOXO.

Sweet Nothings: Snow Edition!

I wish I could've just paused time that day. It was so gorgeous outside! I felt like I had just stepped into Narnia or a fairy realm or something equally spectacular. So here goes, ten of my beautiful snowy photographs:

My Alpaca hat! given to me by that cute boyfriend of mine.

My poor snowy car did SO much driving that weekend.
Oil change, here we come!

There's a much better sequence of pictures for this,
but I thought this face summed it up.

You'll probably see me use more, but I had to limit myself to ten for this post. Otherwise, you would've gotten all three hundred or so in one post! and anyway, Sweet Nothings always only have ten pictures. XOXO.
P.S! I got to cross off #101 on my list!
