Confessions of a Facebook Creeper

I have a confession.. I Facebook creep like no other. It always catches me when I'm on like, page ten of your Ex-BF's sister's half brother's girlfriend's photo page and I'm like "Uh Skye, how do you know these people?"

The other thing I stalk: Pandora. Yepp, your Pandora playlists are not safe when I'm around, er.. when I'm on the internet. Pandora (the Internet Radio that has become the soundtrack of my day-to-day life) has this neat little feature where you can see your friends on Facebook who also use Pandora (Don't ask me how they know all this, that's a little too stalker, even for me). It shows you any stations they've made and listened to and song they've liked or bookmarked or whatever. And to me? It's super creepy of me to like looking at what music other people are listening to, but I. Love. It.

I feel like you can learn so much about a person just by what music they listen to. I remember sitting in class ages and ages ago when iPod's first got big (Yeah yeah yeah, it was only like 5 years. Whatever.) and looking through everyone else's trying to interpret what every single artist on there meant. But now! Now I don't even have to steal someone's iPod, I can just creep on their Pandora. I always think it's funny when the kid you thought had weird taste in music has super cool bands bookmarked or the girl you assumed only listened to Top 40 stuff has an amazing list of stations. It reminds me that I don't really know people as well as I think I do and I shouldn't judge a book by its cover, however cliche that sounds. And it's really weird to think that the music I listen to while sleeping and getting a shower and doing my random everyday stuff might be the same music other people are hearing as they go about their days. Oh dear, creeper status rising.. Can't stop.. Must go talk to real people and play with Charlotte Belle..AHH.

I think it's a disease, but I'm still looking into it. I'll let you know what the Dr. says when he calls me back. Now to go listen to more Pandora and keep breaking stereotypes down one friend's station at a time. XO.

Blurry Year & Photographs that Make Me Smile

So much has happened this year that I feel like it was all a blur and went so fast and I'm finally now just sitting back and taking it all in. Which is must needed, trust me.
Things that keep me going (when the going gets a little crazy this time of year):

I feel like it's been so long since I've written that I've forgotten how to write for fun. My mind is hardwired now into MLA format and research papers, UGH. Time to rewire it for pretty words, inspiring photographs, and this dear little blog I've forgotten about. Some of my 110 in 2010 list is going to be crossed off in a minute, but I think I'm going to change my goals for next year to be 21 before 21, only because I can make more realistic goals and actually have the chance to cross them off. This years list was amazing, but a little too big for my britches.

Now to look up pictures of wondrous things and listen to my new favorite Pandora station (Mumford & Sons PLUS! Florence + the Machine= SO good!) Au revoir until the next time I rediscover this my loves. XO.

P.S. All A's and B's in my classes this semester equals one more crossed off my list! Yay!

Phi Mu! Hell Yeah!

Yayyyy!! I accomplished one of my biggest One Hundred and Ten in Twenty Ten goals! Rush week aka Formal Recruitment began September 8th with Orientation. We (Yadira and I) went into a room with about 50 girls, met our Pi Chi's and learned all the ins-and-outs of Rushing. Thursday night we went out with a few other PNM's (Potential New Members) and the Pi Chi's for dinner at Applebee's.
Friday night was the start of the Rush parties: Phi Mu, then Alpha Omicron Pi, then Delta Zeta. I had a ton of fun the first night and my nerves flew out the window. The only thing I was terrified of at that point was not being called back to Saturday night's parties.
Night One Outfit
Night Two I went back to all three houses and had another amazing night meeting all the girls. At the end of it we had to write down our favorites in the order we wanted to go back to them on Pref night. I had a lot of awesome conversations, but I pretty much knew where I wanted to had back to...
 Night Two Outfit
Preference Night, or Pref night, was the final night before Bid Day and definitely the most exciting. We ventured off campus for the two parties, in my case DZ and then Phi Mu. I'm not gonna go into detail about the parties because I'm pretty sure they're kinda secret, but they were both amazing. At the end of the night we made Pref choices and waited until noon the next day to find out who picked us, too.

And finally, after what seemed like forever, we got our bids! PHI MU PHI MU ALRIGHT! I was fourth to last to get my bid (they gave them one-by-one, randomly) and so worried I wouldn't get my first choice. And I ran and skipped into the room to meet my awesome Phi Class!
Then we ALL ran out to meet our new sisters!

These Phi Mu ladies are absolutely wonderful in every way. I'm so glad we chose each other and can't wait until my Phi time is over so I can say I'm their sister in Phi Mu!
Inductions were this weekend and Mamma and John (who is home safe and sound from Iraq!) came to watch the ritual. Again, it's all Top Secret and I can't divulge, but just know that it was beautiful and I'm so happy to be a part of this organization. Side Note: I got voted VP of Phi Class 2010!
Love love love and lots of Lion-y and Ladybug kisses,
XOXO

Home Sweet Home Again!

Three weeks is a very long time to be away from your own deliciously comfy bed and hopping about the country. My trip to Colorado with the boyfriend was delightful, but it made my poor little Pisces fish bowl all shook up. In another day or two I'll post bunches of gorgeous photos I took, but for now I'm just relishing the fact that I'm snuggled in my own bed. So to keep you and me occupied til' then, here's a Curious Tuesday brought to you by Gala Darling*!

1. What is your style direction for the upcoming season?
I'm still debating! Sadly it will probably end up being recycled things from every season in my life, but maybe I'll come back to this question and do some research. All I know now is that I was comfy, cute, and unique.
2. What is your favourite song right now?
I'm really enjoying the new Paramore song they're playing, The Only Exception. I still really need to buy that CD, but I don't know if that's really my favourite. I just finally (!) found all of my CD's that I had hidden from myself during the move, so more than likely I'll be have old-new favourites in another week or so.
3. What’s your best love advice?
Just believe in your feelings and in your heart. Don't let anyone come between what you think might be love, life's too short for that. One of my favourite TV show quotes came from Cupid (which went off the air too soon): "Life is complicated. Love is simple." It's totally absolutely the truth. When you find love, don't overanalyze it and don't make it difficult.
4. Who is the most exciting person you’ve met recently?
Well I didn't technically meet her, but she had such an impact on me I have to say it was the adorable elderly woman on the bus back to Nederland from Boulder. She was Italian but spoke Irish and her English was beautiful. She was so well-spoken and made me want to travel the world and live a life like she had. She was vivacious and enthralling.
5. Are you doing anything wonderful this week? What is it?
Not that I'm aware of. I've been doing wonderful things the last three weeks, so this week has become a lazy, run errands week. I need to schedule in some wonderful!
X's and O's forever mon petite chou chou's!

*And just so you're aware, Gala Darling is doing an ah-mazing Podcast series called Love & Sequins. They're $12 a pop or $84 if you buy the entire series, but they're definitely worth every cent. She's already on Number 10 but I only just picked up Number 1 a day ago and boy am I in lurve. Her advice (and adorable accent!) are top notch.

Sweet Nothings: Summer Lovin' Edition!

Sheesh, I think I may melt down here with this 106 degree heat! Wasn't it only a few months ago that I was freezing my patootie off and wishing for hot chocolate and fuzzy boots? Now I'm hoping that Boulder will require my new (chocolate brown-finally-found-it!) cardigan and counting down the days until my car ices over. I swear, Georgia only has two weeks of happy medium weather.

But! That is all beside the point. The point is that I have ten gorgeous photos to share with you from the last couple months of bug bites, sun burns, and hot hot hot!

Welcome to Sunny Florida!
I drove down for one weekend to surprise the boyfriend and pick up my little brother
the weekend of June 18th.
Just so happened that Hunter's band, Alpacalope, (hehe) was going to jam on Saturday
at his "Birthday Gig". They were awesome, and I was a proud girlfriend.
(Though I wish I had gotten better photos.)
However, all trips must come to an end. Corykins and I drove back to my Peach State
fueled by energy drinks and too many snacks.
I was so happy to come home and see my Baby Belle though! She's getting so big!
CoryBear learned that the best way to walk Remi and Lottie is in the form of a doggie sled team.
We day-tripped to the National Infantry Museum right off post the other day. It was quite amazing.
I'll try to put up more of these pictures later.
We saw fireworks on the 3rd of July and colored the road/sidewalk with chalk.
Photography by my very patient brother. You wouldn't believe how many photos we had to take to get this.
"Happy 4th of July!" and "We love our soldier!"
And last but certainly not least, Miss Charlotte Belle has learned to chase bubbles!

All of the photos that look fancy were done using Picnik. If you haven't tried it, I highly suggest going there rightthissecond! It's free for all of the basic things, but if you want any of the super special editing stuff you have to pay a nominal subscription fee. Honestly though, all of this was done with the basic package and I haven't paid a cent.

I'm off to Florida on Sunday and then off to Colorado next Wednesday, so I am going to be a busy little bee until then. Pinky promise, I'll take lots of pictures and upload them as soon as I can. Now off to pack and clean and hope that all of my clothes fit in my suitcase! XOXO.
