Happy Birthday to Me!

Once a year, I get very excited about a certain month. That month, my dears, is March. And the reason? My Birthday! I love birthdays. I love the feeling of a new year to explore and create and enjoy new things. I love wishing for presents and seeing all of my family. I love looking back over my life and the memories I have made. I love sharing my birthday with my grandfather. I love that Spring Break has always fallen close. I love celebrating the whole month through, just because I can. XO.

Oh my beautiful baby blog!

How I have missed your sweetness the last few weeks month! Seriously, I haven't posted because I've been so gosh dang busy. Between crazy work hours, school, laundry, Charlotte, etc. I've been nonstop since I got home from Spring Break. Which I suppose is a good thing considering it made the time go by very quickly and now it is only two weeks until I'm back with my other half. Swoon!

Alrighty, so let's take a real quick lookie-lu through the things I've crossed off or almost crossed off of my list. This might help me feel a tad more accomplished right now:

6. Go to Disney: Check!

8. Go to Boulder, CO: Tickets are purchased and ready to go! Sooo it's In Process.

15. Buy a calligraphy pen and learn how to use it: In Process! Hunter's Mommy bought me the set and I've played with it, but need more practice.

16. Get a puppy: Check check and triple check! AloooooHA Miss Charlotte!

26. Go to a bonfire: Checked over Spring Break.

28. Take Remi/new puppy for more walks: Check! We walk all the time, even if it's just to the mailbox.

30. Find the perfect "LBD": Supercheck! Not only was it on sale, it's a Rodarte for Target piece. Sorry this is the best picture we got of it with just moi!

35. Revamp my underwear collection: SO superchecked it's not even funny. If it weren't indecent I would totally post pictures of them, they're so cute!

37. Grow out my nails enough to get a manicure: It's official! I haven't seriously bitten my nails since February!

I know I've attempted more so far, but figured I'd get my list of major things I've crossed off written out. Now it's off to bed for me, I'm going to be super busy this next week or so until summer. Two more week two more weeks!! XOXO.

    Sparkly Saturday!

    With my equally fancy Mamma.
Alright, so it's techhhhnically not Saturday anymore, but I still felt like sharing; Our Saturday was a lovely array of fanciness. I finally took a day off of work and everything else. I awoke at noon and rolled out of bed and down the stairs. I spent the "morning" organizing my closet. It may not sound like the most relaxing thing ever, but it totally was for me. Walking into a neat, clean room is so relaxing. I feel like I'm so on top of it all now. (I'll have to add some fabulous photos!) And what better way to feel nice and relaxed than getting a shower with super yummy bath stuff from, where else? Lush.
Apres, I talked to my Beau for a while and then Mamma cooked our dinner:

Tres delicieuse! Eggs Benedict is my very favorite breakfast, but even better as dinner!
We began to watch Julie&Julia and Mamma began to make Vanilla Bean cupcakes. And those little sweet cakes? Absolutely delectable! I put extra pink sprinkles on mine, because I'm fancy. I went upstairs and made my bed, then crawled in and got comfy.
And today? I did a LOT of work. I took off yesterday, but that meant I worked 10 to 6 today instead. I watched the Superbowl while painting my toenails (walking contradiction, anyone?) and Who Dat!? the Saints won! Dudes, you don't even understand how white I sound when I say that!!
So let me show you a couple cute things that are totally Sparkly Saturday/Sunday worthy:

Tarina Taratino "Electric Koolade" necklace! It's so colorful! It's so hippie chic! It's AMAZING!
And then I was looking around the web and found this super cute song, so I had to share the lyrics. I'd share the song itself, but I honestly err.. didn't really like it. It was cute, but I thought the lyrics were more worthy of a better song? If that makes sense? Anyway, here goes. The song is called "Boats and Birds" by Gregory and the Hawk:
    "If you'll be my star
    I'll be your sky
You can hide underneath me and come out at night
When I turn jet black and you show off your light
I live to let you shine
I live to let you shine

But you can skyrocket away from me
And never come back if you find another galaxy
Far from here with more room to fly
Just leave me your stardust to remember you by

    If you'll be my boat
    I'll be your sea
A depth of pure blue just to probe curiosity
Ebbing and flowing and pushed by a breeze
I live to make you free
I live to make you free

But you can set sail to the west if you want to
And past the horizon till I can't even see you
Far from here where the beaches are wide
Just leave me your wake to remember you by"
     XOXO.

    Live Your Life

Class of 2009's song was Live Your Life by TI and Rihanna. I must admit, I was disappointed at first. Really?! We're gonna have a song about "paper chasers" with the Numa Numa song stuck in there randomly as our class song? For real? That's what we want to be remembered for? Ehh, oh well. I hated it for awhile, but have finally come to terms with the poor song. I figure that I might as well like it since it's not gonna change. When it came on the radio the other day, I actually turned the volume up rather than down.
All of this thinking about Senior Songs made me start thinking about Senior Prom. That night was possibly one of my best moments in all of high school. My outfit was amazing. It was unique, gorgeous, my favorite colors, and I never wanted to take it off. I felt like a Barbie doll. Or a giant cupcake!

Look how flouncy my skirt is! And how big my silk corsage is! It was honestly an amazing ensemble to wear. Mamma found the dress at Ross for under 40$. The shoes were found by my stepmom, Suz, for around 30$, the corsage Mamma made for under 10$, ditto with the necklace. I had already owned the pink tutu that I wore underneath my dress. Overall, I spent much less that 100$, and it turned out to be my favorite outfit of all time.
On top of feeling like a Princess, I was finally realizing that I liked the Mister. I wish I had gotten more pictures of us, because we both looked really cute.

Before he realized that all that dancing with him and sitting next to him and whatnot was actually me falling in love with him. It would take us another week before we actually starting texting every day, and then a couple more before we took the plunge.

But just look at those sunglasses! They're gorgeous baby girl pink and heart shaped and I insisted on wearing them indoors for most of the evening. Finally, I leave you with the first Polyvore post I did, which is basically a repeat of my lovely Prom '09 clothes.

    XOXO.
