Happy Finals Week! (& Happy 2nd Birthday Blog!)

Playing my ukulele. Practice makes perfect, right?
Just a few little updates because I have some cute pictures to share! It's finals week here at UNF, so I've been swamped with studying and essay writing (and of course procrastinating!). Two weekends ago was Thanksgiving. Meaning!! It's kind of like.. the bloggy's Second Birthday! EEK! I've had it for two years now and well, fifty three posts later I couldn't be more proud. 6,000+ page views still blows my mind, so thank you very much to anyone who has taken the time to read and enjoy it as much as I enjoy writing it! I adore you all!

Now onto some more pictures to tide you over until I get the chance to post what I'm really excited about- Christmas decorations and my Book Mine finds! But alas! those are for another day...
We decorated our family Christmas tree in Melbourne. All of the personal ornaments are my favorite. Look at this one of little me! Too cute, right?
Mmmmm. Taylor took me on a retro date to Johhny Angel's, a Fifties themed delicious restaurant here in Jacksonville. I was SO full after my burger, chili cheese fries, and chocolate milkshake, but I cannot wait to go back. YUM.
And finally, me nerding out in my Sailor Moon shirt, in the biggest book store I've ever set foot in. Chamblin's Book Mine is well, a MINE of BOOKS. Over 2million at the location we were at!! I unearthed some truly amazing items which I'll share in my next post. Hint: They're both over 100 years old!
Now back to ukulele playing.. I mean studying. One final down as of this morning. One and a half papers and one final to go! Good luck to anyone else cramming and Happy It's-Okay-To-Be-Excited-About-Christmastime-Now-Time! XO, Skye.

Blurry Year & Photographs that Make Me Smile

So much has happened this year that I feel like it was all a blur and went so fast and I'm finally now just sitting back and taking it all in. Which is must needed, trust me.
Things that keep me going (when the going gets a little crazy this time of year):

I feel like it's been so long since I've written that I've forgotten how to write for fun. My mind is hardwired now into MLA format and research papers, UGH. Time to rewire it for pretty words, inspiring photographs, and this dear little blog I've forgotten about. Some of my 110 in 2010 list is going to be crossed off in a minute, but I think I'm going to change my goals for next year to be 21 before 21, only because I can make more realistic goals and actually have the chance to cross them off. This years list was amazing, but a little too big for my britches.

Now to look up pictures of wondrous things and listen to my new favorite Pandora station (Mumford & Sons PLUS! Florence + the Machine= SO good!) Au revoir until the next time I rediscover this my loves. XO.

P.S. All A's and B's in my classes this semester equals one more crossed off my list! Yay!

We Interrupt this Study Session to bring you..

10. Postmodern themes such as simulated worlds, alternate realities, futuristic worlds, and the "weirdness in everyday life" are illustrated in which of the following films?
A)                the Star Wars trilogy
B)                The Lord of the Rings
C)                The Matrix trilogy
D)                Napoleon Dynamite
E)                all the above

This question is taken straight from the pages of a Practice Test for a University level Anthropology test. Yes viewers, our network does see the correlation between this question and anthropology. Our big WTF moment, however, is that our reporter NEVER remembers learning this. Was she asleep? Did she decide doodling was more fun? How could she have missed her Professor talking about alternate realities and weirdness and LOTR!?

In other news, our anchor is procrastinating again and may very well be losing her mind. Back to you. XOXO.

You Set My Soul Alive

USC's Reverse Osmosis A Capella group

Love this song anyway, but how amazing is this group?! I simply started out on that terrible time-waster called YouTube watching a super adorable little Asian boy sing "I'm Yours" and play his ukulele. This little kid plays ukulele better than I do! I then made the mistake of searching related videos and have spent the last hour watching cute kids and A Capella groups. Oh YouTube, you're going to be my procrastinating downfall one of these days.
I've been pretty busy this last week, despite having four days off of class. I'm totally done with English and FYRS (first year seminar, where I made sock puppets and watched movies) classes. One more day to go for my Anthropology exam and my Theatre Appreciation exam. The former should be pretty easy, all multiple choice and we get a practice test. The latter, well, let's just say I'm a bit frightened. She barely went over what would be on the test. And by barely, I mean all she said was "It's going to be like the last one, but be ready for there to be questions from the midterm and anything from the second half." Meaning, you know, be ready for anything. I'm gonna start some hardcore studying tomorrow.
